New Movie Releases: October 14,2011

Footloose – Is a remake of the American musical romance movie filmed in 1984 by the same name. It’s about a city teen that is forced to move to a small ‘Bible Belt’ town, that considers just about everything against the law. The town banned dancing and rock ‘n’ role before he moved there due to a tragic accident that took the lives of five teens after a local dance. He refuses to give up his love for dance and music. Before long his rebelliousness begins to ware off on others including the Reverends teen daughter Ariel. While proving its only normal for teens to have fun and “blow off some steam” he manages to win Ariel’s heart causing the Reverend to panic.

MPAA Rating: PG for some teen drug and alcohol use, sexual content, violence and language.

The Thing – Takes place 3 days prior to the events that took place in the 1982 movie of the same name. It follows a team of International scientist that have discovered an extraterrestrial (alien) that has been buried deep in the ics of Antartica. What they all failed to realize was the alien is in fact still alive and is consuming and replicating the team members one at a time. The team begins to turn against each other as the fight to stay alive never knowing who is real and who isn’t.

The Big Year - This movie is based off the book The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession that was written by Mark Obmascik. It’s about three bird watchers played by comic icons who compete to find the rarest birds in North America at an annual event. The secret face off ends up becoming the biggest year of their lives.
