New Movie Releases: Moneyball VS. Abduction
Two years prior to the story the boy’s father was killed during the September 11th, Twin Tower Attacks. He discovers a key, that was hidden inside a vase. The key sends him on a journey looking for answers. The journey takes him all around New York City in hopes to find out what it opens and to help him cope with his fathers death.
In 2005 Foer told The Times that he, “wanted to tell a different kind of story, one that wasn’t politicized. The book never talks about good or evil, and it never talks about why Sept. 11 happened or how to prevent it — those are absent from the conversation, even as they take up almost the entirety of the real world’s conversation. They’re part of the story, sure; they have to be. But I don’t think that’s how most people experience it.” He went on to add, “I think most people just get sad.”
