Budgeted at US$16.5 million ($23.8 million in current year dollars) the film became a financial and critical success, resulting in a worldwide box office total of US$135 million ($194.5 million) and various awards for Winslet, winning her both a BAFTA and a Screen Actors’ Guild Award, and nominations for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.

She has won awards from the Screen Actors Guild, British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association among others, and has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award for television acting, winning once for her role as Mildred Pierce in the 2011 mini-series of the same name. Winslet has two children with her former husbands: a daughter with Jim Threapleton and a son with Sam Mendes.

Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actress Kate Winslet becomes the latest star to be immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds in London.The shockingly realistic wax figure is wearing a red dress identical to the one that the actress wore to the Emmys this year.

Kate Winslet was included at Madame Tussauds after visitors voted for her to get her own tribute. Wax figure makers spent months perfecting the very realistic replica of the 36-year-old actress.

“Kate Winslet has been one of the most requested wax figures here at Madame Tussauds London. We actually asked our guests who they would like to see in a poll and she actually came top of a list in the poll so that’s why she’s here today.”-Liz Edwards, Madame Tussauds’ Public Relations manager said.

Kate Winslet currently stars in thriller “Contagion” alongside Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow and is set to star in “Movie 43“, a comedy featuring Emma Stone, Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler, Richard Gere and Uma Thurman.
