
Comedian Russell Brand claims he was banned from entering Canada by border guards.
Russell Brand claims he has been stopped from entering Canada, where he was due to perform a stand-up comedy gig at a casino. The comedian/actor, was stopped from entering the country ahead of a show in Orilla, Ontario, on Saturday (02.10.11), forcing him to cancel a show for 5,000 paying ticket holders.
”HELP! I’m gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia. How do you manipulate customs officials? Wasn’t Hitler’s father a customs officer? I’m pretty sure he was,(sic) -Russell Brand tweeted.
After being given the final word from border guards that he would not be entering Canada, the comedian tweeted gaian:
”I’m sorry. I can’t enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations AND our minds (sic)”
The reasons why Russell Brand was banned from entering the North American country are not known, although this isn’t the first time he has had trouble getting past border control, as he was refused entry to Japan in May because of his criminal record.
